For the first time in its 150+ year history The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City has focused its Quarterly Bulletin on the performing arts. Qian Yi is seen performing Paradise Interrupted before the Temple of Dendur in a two page spread. Interesting to note is the fact that this is not Qian Yi’s first time to perform at the Met Museum. She has performed in the Astor Court several times previously.

OPERA America is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2022 IDEA Opera Residencies (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) program, an initiative that provides New York City-based composers and librettists of color an opportunity to explore opera as an expressive medium. The program is supported by the Katherine S. and Axel G. Rosin Fund of The Scherman Foundation.

• Qian Yi performs opposite acclaimed Chinese opera star Wu Hsing Kuo (Legend of the Green Snake,The First Emperor) in The Contemporary Legend Theater premiere of Butterfly Dream. Commissioned for the Taiwan's National Theater as part of their 20th anniversary celebration, the production is “one of the most highly anticipated theatrical events of the year."
